24.表語置于系動(dòng)詞后，構(gòu)成主語+系(動(dòng)詞)+表語結(jié)構(gòu)

(1)名詞詞組、形容詞詞組和介詞詞組作表語

She is a very responsible teacher.(名詞詞組)

It was indeed a terrible thing to happen.(形容詞詞組)

Your room is on the third floor,Sir.(介詞詞組)

(2)不定式結(jié)構(gòu)作表語

The question is where to get the money and how to organize the work.

An artist’s business is to show the world as he sees it,not to make it better.

注意be + to do 不一定都是系表結(jié)構(gòu)，這一結(jié)構(gòu)常常用來表示命令或安排。

You are to wear uniforms at work.(命令)

The plane is to take off at 8∶30 p.m.(安排)

(3)動(dòng)名詞和分詞詞組作表語

His favourite sport is playing football.(動(dòng)名詞詞組)

The door remained locked for a whole day.(名詞)

注意：過去分詞作表語時(shí)，起形容詞作用，沒有被動(dòng)的意思。

He was too excited to be able to take part in the contest.

(4)代詞作表語

This room is yours;the next one is mine.

Don’t worry.It’s nothing serious.

(5)名詞從句作表語

Their idea is that we should build another school in this district.

The fact is that I can’t do much about this.
